Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Marketing Clerics collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language. If anything here is unclear, email us at sales@marketingclerics.com and we will walk you through it.

Who we are

The Marketing Clerics is an email marketing company serving trades contractors, based in Minnesota. You can reach us at sales@marketingclerics.com or 651-432-4404. This policy covers this website and the services we provide through it.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you give us. When you apply to the program or the $599 trial, we collect your name, email, phone number, business name, trade, state, years in business, and the rough size of your customer list. If you email or text us, we keep that correspondence.
  • Information from your Housecall Pro account (clients only). If you become a client, you give us access to your Housecall Pro account through an API key. We pull your past-customer contact details and your job and estimate history so we can write and target your emails. This is your business data, and you own it.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring links. See the Cookies and analytics section below.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to review your application and respond to you, deliver the service by writing, building, targeting, and sending your email campaigns, send you transactional email such as the confirmation message after you apply, operate and secure this website, and meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Email and communications

When you apply, we send a confirmation email through our email provider to verify your address and follow up. If you become a client, your campaign emails are sent to your customers through Klaviyo, the email platform you own, under your own business name. Every campaign email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and we honor those requests promptly. We follow the CAN-SPAM Act and related rules on every send.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other clients. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed to do their job:

  • Netlify: website hosting and form submission handling.
  • Resend: sending our transactional and confirmation emails.
  • Klaviyo: the platform where client campaigns are built and sent.
  • Housecall Pro: the source system we integrate with for client customer data.
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: website usage measurement.
  • We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Your customers' data

For our clients, we process data about your customers on your behalf and under your direction. You remain responsible for that data and for having the right to contact those customers. We use it only to run your program, we keep it inside your own platform, and when your engagement ends you keep everything. The details are spelled out in the service agreement you sign before any work begins.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This is handled through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using the site.

Data retention

We keep application information for as long as we are in contact with you and as long as we need it for legitimate business and legal reasons. Client data is retained for the length of the engagement and handled per the service agreement. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain uses. To make a request, email sales@marketingclerics.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for a reasonable request. We will never retaliate against you for exercising these rights.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including working with providers that maintain strong security practices, and limiting access to only the people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

Children's privacy

This site and our services are meant for business owners and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear.
