There are five ways to run email to your past customers, and the prices run from nothing extra on software you already pay for to several thousand dollars a month. The price is the smaller part of the decision, though. What changes the math is who does the work every month, and whether the tool can reach your whole list at all.

Here’s what each option costs, with every price dated and linked to where it came from, including ours.

The short version

  • Inside ServiceTitan (Marketing Pro): no published price. Third-party estimates run about $400 to $2,000+ a month, and that’s for the whole bundle, not just email.
  • Inside Housecall Pro (Campaigns): included on Essentials and up, but capped at 500 emails a month. The paid add-on is $9 to $89 a month, every tier stops at 500 emails a day, and Campaigns skips anyone you haven’t served in three years.
  • Klaviyo or Mailchimp, run yourself: about $45 to $60 a month at 2,000 contacts and $270 to $400 at 25,000. The software is cheap. The hours are not.
  • An agency: commonly $1,000 to $10,000+ a month, by the agencies’ own numbers. None of those figures are written for contractors.
  • Done for you (us): a $3,500 build fee, then $1,299 a month, plus Klaviyo billed to you directly.

Inside ServiceTitan. ServiceTitan doesn’t publish a price for Marketing Pro, and it doesn’t sell the email piece by itself. The estimates we gathered in our ServiceTitan guide run from about $400 a month (PipelineOn) to over $2,000 (QuoteIQ). Several of those sources sell alternatives to ServiceTitan, so read them as estimates. If you’re already on Marketing Pro, your invoice is the real number.

Inside Housecall Pro. Essentials, Max and Max+ include Campaigns at no extra charge, but Housecall Pro’s own FAQ caps it at “500 emails per day and per month.” With 1,200 past customers, you can’t email your whole list once in a month. The paid tier, Campaigns Advanced, costs $9 a month on Basic, $19 on Essentials, $49 on Max and $89 on Max+, with monthly allowances of 500, 1,500, 5,000 and 15,000 emails. Even the paid tier sends at most 500 emails a day, so getting through 10,000 customers takes 20 days. Campaigns also leaves out anyone last serviced more than three years ago, and Housecall Pro says that can’t be changed. Our Housecall Pro guide has the rest.

Running the software yourself. As of October 15, 2026, Klaviyo’s calculator put its email plan at $60 a month for up to 2,500 active profiles, $150 at 10,000 and $400 at 25,000. Mailchimp listed $45 a month on Essentials or $60 on Standard for 1,501 to 2,500 contacts, $110 or $135 for 5,001 to 10,000, and $270 or $310 for 20,001 to 25,000, before its first-year discount on bigger lists. Housecall Pro connects to Mailchimp directly, but the connection sends only name, email, tags and lead source, once per customer. Last service date and job history never make it over.

Hiring an agency. Every published figure for this comes from an agency, so take it with that in mind. InboxArmy, an email agency, puts the average at $2,500 to $10,000 a month or more, with small and mid-sized businesses paying around $1,000 to $3,000 (updated September 2026). Enflow Digital, which also sells email marketing, lists retainers from $2,000 to $3,000 a month at the low end to $10,000 to $15,000 at the top (March 2025). Neither one is written for contractors.

Done for you. That’s us, and the price is the same one on our homepage: a $3,500 build fee that covers month one, then $1,299 a month for months two through twelve. Year one comes to $17,789, or $15,000 if you pay up front, which saves you $2,789. Klaviyo is billed to you directly, in your name.

What a year costs at your list size

Year-one totals for the software and the program, at three list sizes. Agency retainers mostly don’t scale with your list, so they’re in the note under the table.

Housecall Pro Campaigns Advanced$588 on Max (5,000 emails a month)$1,068 on Max+ (15,000 emails a month)No tier reaches 25,000 in a month

A few notes on reading that table. Marketing Pro estimates work out to roughly $4,800 to $24,000 or more a year, for the whole bundle. The Housecall Pro row is the add-on alone, on the smallest plan that can reach the list in a month: Essentials’ tier stops at 1,500 emails a month, every tier stops at 500 a day, and Max+ appears in Housecall Pro’s help center but not on its public pricing page. Mailchimp is shown at list price, Essentials to Standard. And InboxArmy’s small-business range works out to about $12,000 to $36,000 a year, whatever size your list is.

The software rows are the cheapest lines on this page, and they leave out the biggest cost.

The cost nobody puts on the invoice

The cheap options are cheap because you’re the one doing the work.

Every month, somebody has to pick something worth a past customer’s time, write it, build it in the editor, pull the right list, check how it looks on a phone, send it, and keep an eye on the replies and unsubscribes. Then they do it again next month, including in the middle of your busy season, when nobody has time for anything.

We won’t put an hours number on that, because it depends on who’s doing it and how good they are at it. Price it yourself. Take whoever would do it, multiply their hours by what their time is worth to you, and add that to the software line. Then count the months it doesn’t get done, because those cost you something too. That’s usually when customers forget your name.

What it’s worth spending against

Email to past customers is worth paying for if it costs less than finding new customers to replace the ones who drift away.

LocaliQ’s 2025 benchmarks, drawn from 3,211 home services search campaigns, put the median cost of a single lead at $90.92. By trade, it was $93.69 for electricians, $117.92 for landscaping, $127.74 for air conditioning, and $129.02 for both heating and plumbing. That’s per lead, not per booked job, and LocaliQ sells search advertising, so it has a stake in those numbers. They’re still the most open benchmarks we found.

You already paid to win every customer on your list once. Email is how you avoid paying to win them again. We won’t promise what it returns, because nobody can know that about your list from the outside, and we couldn’t find an honest retention benchmark for the trades either. The calculator on our homepage gives you a rough estimate for your own list, and the $599 trial tests it on your actual customers.

What our price includes, and what it doesn’t

The build fee covers month one: connecting ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, cleaning up your list, designing your templates, building your automated follow-ups, and authenticating your domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC so inboxes can trust your mail. Every account starts with four follow-ups: a review request after each paid invoice, a 90-day check-in after a big install, a yearly tune-up reminder, and a win-back for anyone quiet for 18 months. Your first email goes out around week four, or closer to week six if DNS access or list repair slows the start.

After that, the monthly fee covers:

  • One email a month, written by a person from a story in your business, and approved by you before it sends
  • Personalization, so each customer gets the offer that fits the work you did for them
  • The connection that keeps your list current and feeds new jobs from ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro to your follow-ups
  • A plain monthly report of what the email brought back
  • One person on your account, and a strategy check-in every quarter

What isn’t included: Klaviyo, which you pay directly, and your ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro subscription. If you’re on Housecall Pro, the program needs the MAX plan, which Housecall Pro lists at $299 a month billed annually, against $149 for Essentials. We don’t touch your ads, your website or your phones, either. We work alongside whoever runs those.

Here’s how the whole year runs, week by week, and what done-for-you email involves if you’re weighing it against doing it yourself.

How the year ends

The program is a twelve-month term. After that it runs month to month, renewing until you tell us to stop, with no second twelve-month term and no surprise charges.

If you leave, everything inside your Klaviyo account stays yours: the account itself, your list, your templates, and your automated follow-ups, set up the way we built them. What stays with us is the feed. Your follow-ups fire when new jobs come in from ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, and that feed runs through our integration gateway. Without it, the follow-ups stay put but stop seeing new jobs. If you want them to keep running, we can talk about keeping just the connection, for a smaller monthly fee.

Who shouldn’t pay for any of this

  • Lists under 500 past customers. The full program needs at least 500 to make sense. Start with the trial, which has no minimum, or run the software yourself.
  • Shops not on ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro MAX. The program is built on that data, and without one of them there’s nothing to personalize from.
  • Shops that want to keep sending their own email or text marketing alongside ours. An unsubscribe in Klaviyo doesn’t carry back to ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, so two senders means someone who opted out can still hear from you.
  • Anyone who needs jobs this week. Email to past customers builds over months. If the schedule is empty now, ads move faster.

Pricing questions

How much does email marketing cost for a contractor?

It depends on who does the work. The software alone runs about $45 to $60 a month at 2,000 contacts and $270 to $400 at 25,000, as of October 2026. An agency commonly charges $1,000 to $10,000 or more a month, by the agencies' own figures. Our done-for-you program is a $3,500 build fee, then $1,299 a month, plus Klaviyo billed to you directly.

How much does ServiceTitan Marketing Pro cost?

ServiceTitan doesn't publish it. Third-party estimates run from about $400 to over $2,000 a month, and they cover the whole Marketing Pro bundle, not email alone. Several come from companies that sell alternatives to ServiceTitan, so your own invoice is the number to trust.

Is Housecall Pro's email included in my plan?

Partly. Essentials, Max and Max+ include Campaigns, but it's capped at 500 emails per day and per month, so it can't reach a list bigger than that in a month. Basic needs the paid add-on to send email at all. The paid tier, Campaigns Advanced, costs $9, $19, $49 or $89 a month depending on your plan, with monthly email allowances from 500 to 15,000. Every tier sends at most 500 emails a day, and either way, Campaigns leaves out anyone last serviced more than three years ago. Here's the full breakdown .

Do I pay Klaviyo on top of your fee?

Yes. You pay Klaviyo directly, in your name, so the account and the list are yours no matter what happens with us. For most contractors that's roughly $30 to $150 a month, more for very large lists. We don't mark it up or resell it.

Does the $599 trial count toward the program?

No. The trial is its own thing: one personalized send to your whole past-customer list, minus anyone you flag not to contact, for $599. It isn't credited toward the build fee. It's there so you can see how your own customers respond before you commit to a year.

Can I cancel after the first year?

Yes. The program is a twelve-month term. After that it runs month to month, renewing until you tell us to stop. There's no second twelve-month term. Everything inside your Klaviyo account stays yours, including the automated follow-ups. The feed that sends them new jobs from ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro runs through our integration gateway, and that part stays with us.
